Who to contact
SparrowSEO provides websites and redesigns for contractors and local service businesses in the Shuswap and Okanagan, British Columbia.
Our owner is the privacy contact for information held by SparrowSEO. For questions, access or correction requests, or a privacy complaint, email josh@sparrowseo.com.
Information you share
When you submit a website enquiry, we collect your name, business name, email address, the help you are interested in and your project message. You can also provide a phone number, services and service area, and an existing website address. We keep the submission date and a reference for the enquiry.
If you contact us by email or continue with a project, we also receive the information and materials you choose to share in that conversation, such as business details, a logo or work photos. Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details or sensitive personal information through the enquiry form.
Why we use it
We use enquiry information to respond to you, discuss your requirements, prepare a written scope and quote, and keep a record of the conversation. If you become a customer, we use relevant information to carry out the agreed work and handle support, billing or refund questions.
The website also uses technical information to deliver pages, prevent spam and protect the enquiry form. Our form protection uses a temporary, coded identifier derived from a visitor’s network address to limit repeated submissions. Hosting services may process connection and request information for operation and security.
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. We do not sell enquiry information.
Storage and service providers
Submitted enquiries are stored in a private inbox that is restricted to the SparrowSEO owner. This website uses Hostinger for hosting. Enquiries are stored in private files outside the public website folder and are accessible through a password-protected owner inbox. Email services also process information when we correspond with you by email.
We share information with service providers as needed to host the site, store enquiries and communicate with you. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law. Providers may process or store information outside British Columbia or Canada, where other laws can apply.
We use access controls and form protections to reduce unauthorised access and misuse. No online service can promise absolute security.
How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose of the record: handling an enquiry, completing a project, addressing a dispute, or meeting a legal or business requirement. We retain personal information only while it is needed for those purposes, including any applicable legal retention period. When it is no longer needed, it is deleted or de-identified.
The enquiry form does not automatically delete your message after submission. You can contact us to ask about information we hold or to request deletion, subject to legal requirements and the need to retain relevant records.
Your choices and requests
You can ask to access personal information we hold about you, ask for a correction, or withdraw consent to a use or disclosure where the law allows. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing information. If withdrawing consent would prevent us from completing a requested service, we will explain that consequence.
Email the privacy contact above and describe your request or concern. We will review it and respond within the time required by applicable privacy law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Demonstration websites
The contractor examples on this site use fictional businesses. Their sample quote forms run in your browser and do not send or save the details you enter. Use sample details when trying them. General hosting and security processing may still occur when you visit an example page.
The real SparrowSEO enquiry form is separate from these sample forms.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy if our services or information practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version. We will seek additional consent where required before using personal information for a new purpose.
